We acted on behalf of the claimant, who had an operation on one of his right metatarsals to correct a problem. The hospital operated on the wrong metatarsal and therefore had to carry out a further operation on the correct one. It was not possible to remedy the incorrectly operated one. The claimant was therefore left with significant ongoing problems.
Fortunately, these problems did not affect his mostly sedentary job, but nevertheless he was left with difficulties which are likely to remain permanent.
The claim was settled for the sum of £17,500.
